Pitbulls Wikia

The Pit Bull is referred to as many different breeds. There's the American Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The one we're talking about is the American Pit Bull Terrier. This breed was brought to the US in the 19th century by Irish settlers. Though bred for fighting, this breed became much loved as a working dog or family pet. The breed has lately acquired a reputation for aggression, which is vigorously refuted by its supporters.

The dog has powerful jaws and a brick-like head, held by a strong neck. The ears can be floppy, half-pricked or cropped. The body is muscular and stocky. This dog has shorter legs, giant paws and sharp claws.

They come in a rainbow of colors. There is red-and-white, which is when there is an orange-ish pelt with white or orange paws, usually an orange white-tipped tail, sometimes a white blaze from forehead to muzzle, with a normally white snout.

Blue is when there is a darker gray pelt with white or 'blue' paws, usually a white snout, there can be a blaze, and a blueish nose.

There is brindle, where it is a chocolate-brown base, with random stripes of black and sometimes orange. A white snout will accompany the blaze. Black nose.

Color does not matter for temperament. They are all sweet, smart, and hilarious. They are sure to make you laugh at least once.
